Summary
A Teacher at Northside Christian School is responsible for providing high-quality instruction that supports the academic, spiritual, and personal development of students. The teacher integrates a biblical worldview into all areas of instruction, fosters a Christ-centered classroom culture, and partners with families to support student growth. Schedule
This is a full-time position following the school calendar, including required faculty meetings, professional development days, and school events.
- Typical hours of Monday through Friday; 7:30am to 3:30pm
- Required to work all in-service days and abide by PTO Blackout dates set each year
- Required to attend events outside of normal school hours on occasion

Essential Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and academic standards.
- Integrate a biblical worldview throughout instruction and classroom discussions.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations.
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate records of grades, assignments, and attendance.
- Create a safe, orderly, and Christ-centered learning environment.
- Establish clear classroom expectations and consistent discipline practices.
- Encourage student responsibility, respect, and integrity.
- Promote positive student relationships and collaboration.
- Maintain open and professional communication with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
- Work collaboratively with administration and fellow teachers to support student success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school functions.
- Maintain lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Follow all school policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with students, families, and staff.
As NCS is a ministry, teachers are expected to intentionally integrate faith and learning while modeling Christ-like character in all aspects of life in and out of school.
Biblical Integration in Instruction
- Intentionally incorporate biblical truth and a Christian worldview into lesson planning, classroom instruction, and student discussions.
- Help students understand how academic subjects relate to God's truth and His design for the world.
- Encourage critical thinking through the lens of scripture and biblical principles.
- Lead students in prayer, devotions, and age-appropriate biblical discussions.
- Encourage students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Foster spiritual growth by modeling humility, grace, accountability, and servant leadership.
- Demonstrate Christ-like attitudes, speech, and actions in interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain a lifestyle that reflects biblical values consistent with the school's doctrinal statement and mission.
- Provide mentorship and encouragement to students in both academic and spiritual matters.
- Support the mission of the school by participating in chapel services, spiritual emphasis activities, and community prayer when applicable.
- Collaborate with administration and fellow faculty to cultivate a Christ-centered school culture.
- Encourage students to use their gifts and abilities for service to others and for God's glory.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required for specific teaching assignment.
- ACSI certification required
- State teaching certification preferred
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in Christian education is highly valued.
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
- Commitment to living a life consistent with biblical principles.
- Agreement with the school's doctrinal statement.
- In person attendance and active participation in a local Bible believing church.
