Teacher Assistant Position
This position can be as a shadow or a regular teacher assistant. Essential duties and responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervises students while they are arriving and departing from school.
- Assists students in academic tasks as outlined by the classroom teacher.
- Assists students during inside or outside recess.
- Assists students during lunchtime.
- Assists with behavior issues.
- Assists students to and from the restroom.
- Contacts parents through phone calls, emails and home visits as accompanied and directed by the teacher.
- Sanitizes/cleans classroom and equipment using approved materials.
- Assists teacher with bulletin-boards, running errands, making copies, filing and other clerical duties requested by her/him.
- Attends meetings upon request of the teacher or administration.
- Assists in other capacities as directed by the administrator.
Supervisory responsibilities: Supervises students under teacher direction.

Education and/or experience: High school diploma; previous experience working with students preferred.
