NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
The Classroom Aide provides support to students and staff within the school environment. Working under the direct supervision of a certified teacher or related service provider, the aide helps foster a safe, structured, and supportive environment for all students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Aides may be assigned to work as a 1:1 or 2:1 with students requiring specific support as outlined in their IEPs. Aides also support classroom routines, transitions, and the implementation of teacher-directed strategies to promote student engagement and independence.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children or students with disabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively and receive direction and feedback from certified staff

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Teacher Aide will:
- Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Assist students in staying on task during classroom instruction and activities
- Support students with physical needs, including toileting, feeding, or mobility, when required
- Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival/dismissal
- Help facilitate transitions between activities and settings
- Provide verbal or physical prompts and redirection as needed to support positive behavior
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and school staff to support individual student goals
- Maintain student safety at all times and report concerns promptly to supervising staff
- Assist with light clerical tasks related to student materials, data collection, or classroom organization
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and respect students' dignity and independence
EVALUATION:
- Performance will be evaluated annually by building administration.
