More personal attention. More opportunities.Role Description: We are seeking a Tax Supervisor to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for performing tax engagements with minimum supervision, but with Tax Manager and Partner support. This role requires direct client contact and relationship management. The ideal candidate will review complex federal and state tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, and Individuals.This role requires applying technical knowledge and research skills while working as part of a team with a focus on continual improvement, Staff mentorship, coaching and training.Responsibilities:Supervise, direct, and mentor Interns, Staff and Senior Staff AccountantsReview basic and moderately complex tax returnsPrepare returns as neededPrepares/reviews deferred tax calculationsPrepares/reviews accrual to cash conversionsUnderstands consolidated tax return mechanicsInitiates quarterly and year-end tax planning discussionsAbility to identify and communicate open items and obtain items from the clientAbility to navigate and utilize tax research tools and resourcesUnderstanding of tax theories and when and why to applyDevelop and maintain excellent client relationships through superior customer serviceServe as a client contact on related matters and directly interact with client owners and managementRecognize and resolve or elevate potential or existing problems with appropriate research and consulting, as necessaryConsulting, working with, and servicing client base to make recommendations on business improvement and process improvement and serve as a business advisor to clientsAssist in the development and execution of department's various training programsSet and monitor staff scheduling and workloadsEncourage the continuous technical and soft-skill development of staff by providing timely feedback on engagementsParticipate in recruitment eventsSkills:Ability to motivate, develop and direct team members as they workAbility to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to train, orient and mentor staffAbility to review and evaluate the work of othersDetail oriented and improvement focusedFlexibility to change direction frequentlyActions support the "Culture of Helpfulness" and "Continuous Improvement" Core ValuesServe as an instructor or discussion leader in educational programs and participate in the firm's marketing activities.Client satisfactionRespect of all team members and clientsHigh-quality workActive communication of workload and when additional support is neededTechnical expertiseRequired Experience:CPA or CPA track with 3+ years of progressive CPA firm experienceBS in Accounting, MSA or MBA preferredAbility to adjust schedule based on peak workload times in the department
