Tax Supervisor - ConstructionWe are currently seeking a Tax Supervisor to join our team in any of the following office locations Jericho, NY; New York, NY; White Plains, NY; Park Ridge, NJ; Chelmsford, MA; Needham, MA; Palm Beach, FL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Running client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budgetSupervising, training, and mentoring staff on tax projects and assessing performance of staff for engagement reviews; performing in-charge role as neededReviewing tax returns done by staff and making recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities, gaining increasing responsibility in review processPreparing tax returns for more complex individual, trust, and flow through entitiesResearching and consulting on various tax matters; utilizing tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax mattersResponding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authoritiesMeeting or exceeding chargeable hour targetsPunctually entering time and expenses to support efficient billing processesMaintaining appropriate compliance with all Firm policies and proceduresDeveloping referral sources, which may include involvement in community, social, business, and professional organizations, as well as alumni functionsDeveloping understanding of how to identify market opportunities; assisting management in identifying marketing and sales opportunitiesRepresenting and actively promoting the FirmTraveling to client meetings occasionallyQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree in taxation or equivalent preferredMinimum of 4+ years of progressive tax preparationConstruction Tax experience requiredCPA license preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Tax software, ProSystems and CCHMust be technically proficient in corporate, international, federal and state and local tax, as well as have a solid background in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, C Corps, partnerships and individual/ trustsStrong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returnsAbility to manage staff on multiple engagementsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentMaintains a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for othersWhy Grassi?Our firm is consistently ranked by Vault.com and the Best Places to Work group for our commitment to compensation, paid time off, work-life balance, culture and more.
