The qualified Tax Staff Accountant has at least 2 years of tax accounting experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, CA, and we have an in-office expectation of 5 days a week.

The Tax Staff Accountant is responsible for:

  Sales/use tax compliance

  n

• n

  Property tax compliance

  n

• n

  Assisting with making tax payments

  n
n
• n

  Preparing and review B & O monthly filings, Beverage and Meals Tax filings, and other miscellaneous filings.

• n

  Preparing and submit monthly and quarterly census reports

  n
n
• n

  Preparing month-end close workbooks and reconciliations

  n
n
• n

  Assisting with new store setup

  n
n
• n

  Performing research on various tax topics and communicate with tax department jurisdictions

• n

  Working collaboratively with other departments.

The Tax Staff Accountant has:

• n

  Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting

  n
n
• n

  CPA licensure and/or advanced degree in Tax or Accounting, a plus

  n
n
• n

  2-5 years of relevant accounting experience

  n
n
• n

  SAP S/4 HANA experience is a plus

  n
n
• n

  Excellent written, verbal, communications, and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

  n
n
• n

  Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
