This role is ideal for candidates from small-to-mid-sized CPA firms who are comfortable managing the full tax engagement lifecycle and maintaining direct client relationships.The selected candidate will work across multiple industries and entity structures while serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients.This opportunity is best suited for professionals who enjoy variety, hands-on tax work, and a collaborative public accounting environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of approximately 50 clients across diverse industriesPrepare and review complex tax returns including: 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, Trust & Estate ReturnsLead client communication and relationship managementConduct tax planning and advisory discussionsResearch and resolve complex tax issuesReview work prepared by junior staff and provide mentorshipEnsure timely delivery of engagements and adherence to deadlinesCollaborate with internal accounting and advisory teamsManage engagement workflows, priorities, and deliverablesRequired Qualifications4+ years of public accounting tax experienceExperience preparing and reviewing multiple entity tax returnsStrong knowledge of: Individual taxation, Corporate taxation, Partnership taxation, Trust and estate taxationPrior experience managing client relationships independentlyStrong communication and client-facing skillsAbility to work across multiple industries and return typesStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred QualificationsCPA license strongly preferredExperience in small-to-mid-sized CPA firmsPrior review and mentoring experienceExperience with tax planning and advisory servicesFamiliarity with CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar tax softwareIdeal Candidate ProfileSuccessful candidates will typically have:Experience owning engagements from preparation through final deliveryStrong client relationship management skillsHands-on involvement in both preparation and review workGeneralist tax exposure across multiple industriesA collaborative and adaptable mindsetInterest in long-term career growth within a public accounting environmentThis role is not ideal for candidates with highly siloed backgrounds focused solely on SALT, advisory-only work, or narrow industry specialization.
