A high growth, privately held CPA and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing practice. Working closely with the firm's Owner, you'll manage a diverse client portfolio, provide tax planning and compliance services, mentor junior staff, and serve as a trusted advisor to privately held businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax engagements from planning through completion.
- Review and prepare complex federal and state tax returns for individuals and privately held businesses.
- Provide proactive tax planning and consulting to clients throughout the year.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships and delivering exceptional service.
- Research tax issues and provide practical guidance on evolving tax regulations.
- Review the work of junior staff and provide coaching and mentorship to support their professional development.
- Work directly with the firm's Owner on client strategy, firm initiatives, and special projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA preferred (or actively pursuing).
- Approximately 6-10 years of public accounting tax experience .
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing both individual and business tax returns (S-Corps, C-Corps, Partnerships, LLCs).
- Solid understanding of federal and state tax compliance and planning.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities during busy seasons.
- Self-starter who enjoys taking ownership and working in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
