Tax ManagerA nationally established public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its San Francisco office. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base while leading engagements and mentoring developing professionals within a collaborative team environment.The Tax Manager will play a key role in managing client relationships, reviewing complex tax work, and providing technical guidance across a range of engagements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage multiple tax engagements from planning through completionReview complex federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individualsPerform technical tax research and develop practical solutions to client issuesIdentify potential tax risks and planning opportunities and discuss findings with senior leadershipReview workpapers and documentation to ensure compliance with professional standardsServe as primary client contact for engagement-related mattersCoordinate workflow, delegate assignments, and monitor deadlinesProvide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to tax seniors and staffCommunicate engagement status, technical matters, and client developments to firm leadershipStay current on tax law changes and evaluate impact on client engagementsParticipate in client development and relationship-building effortsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field requiredApproximately 6+ years of public accounting experienceActive CPA license required or Enrolled AgentMinimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experienceExperience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagementsStrong technical research and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with modern tax software and engagement management platformsWillingness to travel occasionally based on client needsPreferred:Master's degree in Taxation or AccountingExperience working with middle-market clientsExposure to multi-state and complex tax structuresCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $135K-$175KThis compensation range is a good faith estimate of the expected wage range you can expect to be paid upon hirePerformance-based bonus opportunityComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with employer contributionPaid time off and professional development supportContinuing education and certification assistancePursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
