Join our dynamic team for an exceptional career opportunity within a flexible, collaborative, and world-class professional environment.Seeking a Tax Manager with a focus in Real Estate: residential, commercial, industrial, land, special purpose, etc.This position will be based out of Woodbury, NY, local candidates are highly preferred, remote or out of state candidates will also be considered.Oversee tax engagements from planning to delivery, ensuring tasks and projects meet deadlines and client expectationsAcquire a deep understanding of clients' industries and businessesPrepare, review, and manage staff deliverables including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and write-up work for all entity types (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, multi-state, etc.)Prepare and review complex tax planning projections for individuals and entitiesManage and monitor client deliverables and due datesPrepare and review complex U.S.
and multi-state/international income tax returns for business entities, including consolidated and nonconsolidated C-corporations, S-Corporations, and PartnershipsConduct complex tax research and prepare memorandum outlining findings and conclusionsCommunicate with and respond to the IRS and state agencies on behalf of clients in connection with audits, inquiries, and tax noticesDelegate projects to staff that can handle them most efficiently and provide accounting and tax assistance to staff as neededCommunicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax mattersAssist with business development efforts, including but not limited to, meeting with prospective and existing clients, preparing fee quotes and proposals, and evaluating clients' needsLead in knowledge of software, processes, and workflowsAssist with employee training for new hires and ongoing employee training and career guidanceEngage in consulting with and completing special projects as requested by/for Management and ClientsTake direction from and report to the Partners of the tax departmentQualifications:CPA or EABachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting7+ years of experience in public accounting with exposure to individual, corporate and partnership taxation
