Legacy Park Advisors | San Diego, CA In Office (Hybrid Flexibility Available)
About Legacy Park Advisors
Legacy Park Advisors is a San Diego based tax, advisory, and accounting firm on a clear growth trajectory. While much of the industry is contracting, we are expanding, investing, and building. We recently completed a significant acquisition that added new clients, staff, and capabilities to our platform, and we are continuing to grow through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
We have made a substantial investment in technology to support our team, including modern practice management, tax preparation, and workflow systems. Our approach to work is built for the way accountants actually want to work today: in office collaboration most of the week, paired with real infrastructure and flexibility to support remote work when needed.
The Role
We are looking for a Tax Manager to lead a team of senior tax associates and tax staff, owning both the people side and the technical quality side of the team's output. This role reports to the Tax Lead and is built for someone who wants to run a team, not just prepare returns.
You will be the quality gate between preparers and firm leadership. Every return and workpaper that leaves your team should be clean, complete, and ready to advance, with no surprises and no loose ends.
What You Will Do
- Lead, manage, and hold the team accountable through weekly expectations, structured 1-on-1s, and real time feedback
- Own technical review and quality control on individual, S corporation, and partnership returns
- Oversee engagement workflow from kickoff through close out, keeping work moving, correctly assigned, and on schedule
- Intervene early on bottlenecks and gate work before it advances to the Tax Lead
- Handle routine to mid level client inquiries directly, escalating only matters that require senior judgment or carry relationship risk
- Support tax planning and projection engagements, building models and drafting planning memos using firm approved templates
- Train and develop seniors and staff to reduce dependence on the Tax Lead over time
- Participate actively in the firm's weekly leadership meeting, surfacing issues and owning follow through
What You Bring
- 3 or more years of public accounting experience with demonstrated technical competency across individual, S corporation, and partnership returns
- Prior experience managing or mentoring other accountants
- Strong time management, communication, and delegation skills
- Comfort managing people and production at the same time, in a high volume environment
- CPA license preferred
- Experience with modern tax and practice management software
What We Offer
- A competitive salary of $120,000 to $185,000, depending on experience, plus performance based incentives
- A firm actively investing in growth, technology, and infrastructure rather than pulling back
- In office collaboration with genuine flexibility and systems built to support remote work when needed
- Real ownership of a team and its outcomes, with a clear path to grow alongside the firm
- The opportunity to build your leadership track record at a firm that is moving forward instead of standing still
Legacy Park Advisors is growing. If you want to lead a team at a firm that is moving forward instead of standing still, we would like to talk to you.
