Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000

We are seeking a Tax Manager with strong experience in passthrough taxation (S-Corps and partnerships), multi-state filings, and individual taxation for business owners, who is motivated to grow into a Senior Manager role.

What You Will Do:
Client Leadership & Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and own day-to-day tax relationships
- Manage client communications across email, virtual meetings, and phone calls
- Oversee engagement economics, including budgets, billing, realization, and collections
- Proactively identify tax planning opportunities and deliver practical, actionable recommendations
Technical Execution
- Prepare and review complex business returns, including Forms 1120-S and 1065, with related multi-state filings
- Review and coordinate preparation of Form 1040 returns for business owners, including passthrough income and state considerations
- Navigate multi-entity and multi-state structures common to government contractors
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting passthrough entities and owner-level taxation
- Perform tax research on complex issues and develop well-reasoned solutions
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff and seniors through detailed review and coaching
- Manage team workloads to promote efficiency, profitability, and timely delivery
- Monitor performance metrics and contribute to a culture of accountability and growth
Practice & Firm Growth
- Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the Tax department
- Participate in business development efforts, including expanding services to existing clients
- Develop subject-matter expertise in an area of focus and serve as an internal resource
- Support special projects as needed
Position Requirements:
Required
- CPA license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year university
- 6–8+ years of public accounting experience, ideally at a regional, national, or multinational firm
- Strong experience with passthrough entities (S-Corps and partnerships)
- Experience preparing and reviewing Form 1040 returns for business owners
- Prior experience supervising and developing staff
- Strong technical foundation with practical application of tax law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable advising clients and leading discussions
Preferred
- Experience serving government contractors or professional services firms
- Experience with CCH Axcess or similar tax software
- Clear interest in long-term growth toward Senior Manager and beyond
