Tax Manager CPA | West Palm Beach, FL
You can get further details about the nature of this opening, and what is expected from applicants, by reading the below.
Ever thought about running your own CPA firm, but without the financial risk of actually owning one? This could be the next best thing.
An established CPA firm in West Palm Beach is looking for an experienced CPA to take responsibility for its local office as two longstanding Partners gradually step towards retirement.
There's already a loyal client base of around 900 clients, some of whom have been with the firm for over 30 years. You won't be expected to bring a book of business, chase new clients or build something from scratch. The business is there. It just needs the right person to help run it.
And this isn't one of those roles where you'll spend your days reviewing returns behind a closed door.
You'll be working directly with clients, managing and mentoring a small team, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and having a genuine say in how the office operates.
The client base is varied, from local family businesses and partnerships to high net worth individuals and international clients. Some prefer doing things the old fashioned way, popping into the office for a conversation rather than navigating another online portal.
So if you enjoy that personal side of public accounting, you'll fit right in.
So, what's in it for you?
You'll have the opportunity to run an established office, with genuine autonomy and the potential to become a Partner as the current Partners plan for retirement.
There's no set billable hour requirement during busy season. They care more about getting the work done than watching the clock, and you'll be joining a firm where the Partners genuinely welcome new ideas.
You'll start in the office full time, but after 6 months there's the potential to work from home one or two days a week.
Alongside the salary, there's an annual discretionary bonus, health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance and paid time off, with flexibility to negotiate vacation for the right person.
What they're looking for
- CPA qualification
- At least 5 years of Public Accounting experience
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
- Someone comfortable managing staff, mentoring junior accountants and building relationships with clients
- A hands on approach. It's a small office, so everyone gets involved when needed.
Ultimately, they're looking for someone who wants to take ownership of an office, enjoys working with people and still likes getting involved in the actual tax work.
If that sounds like you, click apply and I'll be in touch.
