For 93 years, Flagel Huber Flagel has served clients as a trusted CPA firm built around strong relationships, technical expertise, and practical guidance.
We are continuing to grow and are looking for an experienced Tax Manager, CPA who wants meaningful client ownership without getting lost in the layers of a very large firm.
This is a newly created position resulting from firm growth , not a replacement hire.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on tax leadership role for an experienced public accounting professional who can manage complex client engagements, review the work of others, and serve as a trusted resource to both clients and developing accountants.
At Flagel Huber Flagel, managers manage engagements, not direct reports . You will not inherit a traditional team of direct reports. Instead, you will take ownership of client work while reviewing, mentoring, and providing guidance to staff, seniors, and interns.

Client Ownership Without Traditional People Management
You can lead important engagements and influence developing staff without stepping into a heavily layered people-management structure.
Flexibility That Grows With You
During your first year, the expectation is to work primarily from the office so you can build relationships and become integrated into the firm. After that period, the normal hybrid schedule is three days in the office and two days remote, with some flexibility around remote days.
Candidates may work from our Dayton, Troy, or Cincinnati office .
Base compensation ranges from $85,000 to $160,000 , depending on experience, technical depth, and the value you can bring to the firm.

In return, employees have access to a generous PTO program, and the firm's workload and time-off patterns provide considerably more flexibility outside the busiest part of the year.
