Our client is looking for a Tax Manager to join their well-established public accounting firm in the Northbrook area. This is an excellent opportunity to inherit an existing book of business, build long-term client relationships, and work toward a clearly defined partnership track within a collaborative, relationship-driven firm.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and fiduciary tax clients
- Review complex tax returns and provide technical guidance to clients and staff
- Serve as the primary point of contact for your client base, building trusted, long-term relationships
- Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services throughout the year
- Mentor, train, and develop junior staff, particularly during non-busy season periods
- Collaborate with firm leadership on client service initiatives and long-term practice growth
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation preferred
- Active CPA license required
- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience with management or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong experience reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and fiduciary tax returns
- Excellent client relationship management and communication skills
- Proven ability to mentor and develop staff
- Desire to grow into a long-term leadership and partnership role
