We are partnering with a highly respected Top 10 wealth management firm whose Family Office division is seeking a Principal Tax Manager to join its growing New York team.

This is a highly visible opportunity for an experienced CPA who thrives in a client-facing environment and enjoys working on sophisticated individual, trust, gift, foundation, partnership, corporate, and international tax matters. The role offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary wealth management team.
Responsibilities
- Review complex individual income tax returns, including multi-state filings
- Oversee and review gift, trust, partnership, corporate, and private foundation tax returns
- Prepare and review quarterly tax projections, estimated tax calculations, and extensions
- Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on tax planning opportunities and financial matters
- Conduct tax research and develop solutions for complex tax issuesli>
- Assist clients with tax notices, audits, and regulatory matters
- Support foreign tax reporting and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with wealth advisors, attorneys, investment professionals, and other members of the client service team
- Participate in special projects, including forensic accounting and matrimonial analyses
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships while delivering an exceptional client experience
Qualifications
- 7+ years of high-net-worth tax preparation and review experience
Required Skills
- Strong experience with complex individual, trust, gift, partnership, and entity taxation
- Advanced tax planning and technical research capabilities
- Experience with CCH Axcess Tax, Income Tax Planner, and online tax research platforms
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
Preferred Skills
- Busy Season Hours: Approximately 45 hours per week.
- Emphasis on maintaining reasonable non-billable hour expectations.
- Non-busy season 40 hours per week
Pay range and compensation package
- Base Salary: $200,000 - $220,000 + 10-20% Bonus
