Tax Manager

A growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its Nashville team. This opportunity is ideal for a tax professional looking to manage complex engagements, develop strong client relationships, mentor staff, and continue progressing their career within public accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and corporations
• Oversee tax compliance, planning, projections, and related consulting engagements
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and develop strong, long-term relationships
• Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax matters
• Identify tax planning opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to clients
• Manage multiple client engagements, budgets, timelines, and deadlines
• Review work prepared by seniors and staff and provide technical guidance
• Mentor, train, and develop junior team members
• Collaborate closely with senior managers, directors, and partners on client matters and business development initiatives

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• Strong experience with individual and/or business taxation
• Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagements
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring staff
• CPA license preferred
• Strong technical, analytical, communication, and client-service skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple engagements and deadlines
