We are seeking an experienced and motivated Tax Manager to join our growing public accounting firm in Madison, Wisconsin . The Tax Manager will oversee complex tax engagements, provide strategic tax planning, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse client base that may include closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and trusts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates
• Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services to clients
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key client relationships
• Lead, mentor, and develop tax staff and managers; review work and provide technical guidance
• Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met
• Stay current on tax law changes and assess their impact on clients
• Assist with firm initiatives such as process improvement, client development, and staff training
• Support partners with tax research, planning strategies, and special projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 4+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with partners and team members
