Role Description
The Tax Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Louisville, TN. This position oversees tax planning, preparation, and compliance for individual and business clients, ensuring accurate filings and adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing complex returns, supervising staff preparers, resolving tax issues, and providing proactive tax strategies to reduce liabilities and support client goals. The role also involves monitoring tax law changes, communicating implications to clients, participating in client meetings, and collaborating with bookkeeping and CFO strategy teams to deliver cohesive financial solutions. The Tax Manager is expected to maintain strong client relationships, manage deadlines, and contribute to process improvements and quality control within the tax practice.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Planning and Tax Strategy development.
- Candidates should possess comprehensive skills in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Tax Law and applicable regulations.
- Candidates should possess a broad understanding of Tax concepts across individual and business contexts.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent professional certification (EA - Enrolled Agent) strongly preferred.
- Several years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a similar environment, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly to clients.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software and general accounting systems; advanced Excel skills are beneficial.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on-site in Louisville, TN.
