Tax Manager - Kennesaw, GA

Position Overview

This role offers the opportunity to oversee complex tax engagements, mentor staff, support firm leadership, and advise clients on a full spectrum of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust and estate tax matters, all within a firm that values flexibility and career growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on comprehensive tax matters across individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts/estates.
  • Review engagement work to ensure compliance with firm quality control procedures.
  • Manage multiple client engagements with timely communication and proactive problem-solving.
  • Provide recommendations to partners and take action on technical, scheduling, and engagement issues.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver responsive, high-quality service.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development and training.
  • Handle direct client billing and understand engagement economics.
  • Participate in networking activities and build visibility in your industry specialization.
  • Stay current with tax law changes and emerging trends.
  • Support firm management in implementing policies, procedures, and team initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in business taxation (C corporations, S corporations, partnerships).
  • Experienced in individual taxation and advanced tax planning strategies.
  • Skilled with multi-state and consolidated tax returns.
  • Background in supervising and training staff preferred.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong research skills and exceptional organization and multitasking ability.
  • Highly motivated with ability to manage multiple engagements effectively.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master of Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of public accounting or related tax experience.
