We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager for one of our clients to join a growing public accounting firm in Irving, Texas . This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong public accounting experience who can independently manage tax engagements, build trusted client relationships, and provide thoughtful tax planning and advisory support.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation across individual and business taxation and be comfortable working directly with clients and managing multiple engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee tax engagements from preparation through completion
- Prepare and review individual, partnership, S-Corporation, and business tax returns
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide practical recommendations
- Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted tax advisor
- Research complex tax issues and provide well-supported conclusions
- Respond to IRS notices and assist with tax controversy matters
- Review work prepared by staff and senior tax professionals
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Coordinate with bookkeeping and accounting teams to ensure accurate client information
- Participate in client meetings and communicate tax matters clearly
- Manage deadlines and ensure timely completion of tax engagements
- Stay current with changes in federal and state tax laws and regulations
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing:
- Individual tax returns
- Partnership returns
- S-Corporation returns
- Business tax returns
- Demonstrated tax planning experience
- Strong client relationship management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a CPA firm or public accounting environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license preferred
- Experience managing or mentoring tax staff
- Experience handling complex tax research and planning matters
- Strong knowledge of federal and applicable state tax regulations

Compensation: $140,000 – $150,000 per year
