The Head of Tax – Diagnostics is a newly created leadership role supporting the planned separation of Diagnostics into a standalone, approximately $4billion multinational enterprise. The role will build and lead the tax function as the business transitions from Siemens Healthineers’ integrated operating model toward independent ownership and operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape a tax organization from the ground up while supporting a significant Siemens Healthineers transformation. The successful candidate will bring strategic judgment, technical depth, and operational discipline to define the tax agenda, establish governance, and embed tax as a trusted business partner through separation and beyond. Success requires confidence in ambiguity, strong execution, and scalable processes, controls, and technology‑enabled ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
Global Tax strategy & Governance Lead tax strategy for Diagnostics through separation and as a standalone global business. Establish tax structures, governance, and decision rights needed to support standalone readiness. Maintain global tax governance across corporate income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, customs, and employment‑related taxes. Ensure compliance with global tax rules, including OECD BEPS, Pillar Two, and evolving local requirements. Partner with leadership, finance, legal, and operations on commercial initiatives and growth opportunities. Support M&A, restructuring, supply‑chain, and digital initiatives with tax analysis and recommendations.
Compliance Reporting Oversee tax compliance, including filings, provisions, disclosures, and statutory reporting. Ensure accurate and timely tax accounting under applicable financial reporting and internal requirements. Manage external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authority relationships.
Risk Management & Controversy Identify and mitigate tax risks across jurisdictions and business models. Lead audits, disputes, and controversy matters with legal, finance, and external advisors. Maintain documentation and controls that withstand regulatory scrutiny.
Transfer Pricing & Supply Chain Own and evolve transfer pricing policy to reflect the Diagnostics business model and value creation. Oversee pricing methodologies, intercompany agreements, and profit allocation mechanisms. Align transfer pricing with supply‑chain, manufacturing, R&D, procurement, distribution, and service models.
Leadership & Team Development Lead and develop a global tax organization focused on collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement. Influence stakeholders across Siemens Healthineers and with external advisors, auditors, and authorities. Drive standardization, efficiency, digital tools, and data analytics. Build a lean, scalable model integrating internal teams, external partners, and technology‑enabled ways of working. Scale the function from separation through standalone operations, with room to expand responsibilities. Promote ethical conduct, transparency, and a strong compliance culture.
Qualifications & Experience
Advanced degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Law, or related field; CPA, JD, LL.M. Tax, or equivalent preferred. 20+ years of international tax experience, including leadership in a multinational and/or Big Four environment. Deep expertise in corporate income tax, transfer pricing, international tax, indirect tax, and tax accounting for complex global businesses. Experience in complex, regulated global environments, ideally diagnostics, medtech, life sciences, or healthcare technology.

The base pay range for this position is: $238,300 – $327,657. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
