Position Summary:

We’relooking for aTax Managerto helpour growing taxdepartment.This is a hybrid position, withmainly remotework, but some in-office collaboration will be required.Our business is client-centered and revolves around deadlines. This position has expectations for increased production during January -May, with significant flexibility throughout the summer and fall.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete tax returns for individuals and closely held businesses (1040, 1120S,1065, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with both clients and our team to deliver results by deadlines.
  • Manage a staff member through the tax preparation process providing tax return review, training, and guidance.
  • Assist in outlining processes to streamline the tax return preparation process using best-in-industry software.
  • Develop a strong relationship with clients and team remotely through email, virtual calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Use creativity to seek out tax projects for clients and deliver findings and results to Partners.
  • Conduct research to ensure compliance and locate tax preparation and planning strategies for clients.

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • CPA is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting
  • Have a strong fundamental understanding of accounting and tax rules
  • Desire to continue learning and seek opportunities for growth
  • Ability to understand small business, and the struggles and opportunities they encounter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong emotional intelligence
