About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with a diverse background across International, Corporate, Partnership, and privately owned business taxation to join a growing and well-established public accounting firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys working with complex clients and providing both compliance and strategic tax planning services. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent client relationship skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements while mentoring and developing staff.
What You'll Do
- Manage and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for a diverse client base.
- Oversee tax engagements involving C Corporations, S Corporations, partnerships, and privately held businesses.
- Provide SALT compliance and consulting services, including multi-state tax matters and state tax planning.
- Assist clients with international tax compliance, planning, and cross-border tax matters.
- Research complex federal, state, local, and international tax issues and develop practical solutions.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients.
- Manage multiple client engagements from planning through completion while meeting all deadlines.
- Review tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, executives, and other key client contacts.
- Collaborate with Partners and other service lines on complex client matters.
- Train, mentor, and review the work of Senior and Staff-level tax professionals.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to business development and growth initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA license preferred or required depending on experience.
- 6+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably within public accounting.
- Strong experience with a combination of SALT, International, Corporate, Partnership, and privately owned business taxation.
- Experience preparing and reviewing 1120, 1120S, and 1065 returns.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, local, and international tax regulations.
- Experience with multi-state taxation and complex business structures.
- Strong technical research and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines.
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or developing tax staff.
