Our client, a growing and client-focused Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their collaborative team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys serving high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and executives in a comprehensive wealth management environment.

The Tax Manager will play a key role in delivering proactive tax planning, reviewing tax returns, collaborating with Wealth Advisors, and helping clients make informed decisions that support their long-term financial goals. This is a highly consultative role designed for someone who enjoys building lasting client relationships rather than working in a traditional compliance-focused public accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the firm's tax subject matter expert for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and closely held businesses
  • Develop proactive tax planning strategies that align with clients' overall wealth management and estate planning objectives
  • Review individual, trust, partnership, and business tax returns prepared by outside firms or internal resources to identify planning opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with Wealth Advisors, Financial Planners, Estate Planning Attorneys, and other professional advisors to deliver integrated financial solutions
  • Identify tax‑saving opportunities related to investments, retirement planning, charitable giving, stock compensation, business succession, and estate planning
  • Prepare tax projections and planning analyses throughout the year
  • Research complex federal and state tax issues and communicate recommendations to clients and advisors
  • Serve as a trusted resource for clients by answering tax-related questions and providing proactive planning throughout the year—not just during tax season
  • Stay current on tax legislation and educate clients and internal team members on planning opportunities
  • Assist in developing and enhancing the firm's tax planning processes, workflows, and best practices
  • Support a collaborative, planning‑first culture by partnering across advisory, planning, and client service teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably in public accounting, an RIA, family office, or wealth management environment
  • Strong knowledge of individual, trust, partnership, and closely held business taxation
  • Experience working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth client
  • Thorough understanding of tax planning strategies, investment taxation, retirement planning, and estate planning concept
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skill
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a client-friendly manner
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for delivering an exceptional client experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly alongside Wealth Advisors and Financial Planner
  • Familiarity with charitable planning, donor‑advised funds, family limited partnerships, and business succession planning
  • Experience utilizing tax projection software and financial planning technology
  • Previous experience in an integrated wealth management or multi‑family office environment.
