Role Description


The Tax Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for overseeing tax planning, preparation, and compliance for a diverse client base. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing complex tax returns, managing tax engagements, and ensuring adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations. The Tax Manager will supervise and mentor staff, coordinate workflow, and maintain quality control over all tax deliverables. This role also involves advising clients on tax strategies, responding to IRS and state notices, and collaborating with leadership on process improvements and client service initiatives.



Qualifications



  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Planning and Tax Strategy to help clients minimize liabilities while remaining compliant.

  • Candidates should possess skills in Tax Compliance and Tax Law to ensure accurate application of federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Candidates should possess experience in Tax Preparation and Tax Return Review for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profits.

  • Candidates should possess broad knowledge of Tax concepts, including current regulations, filing requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Enrolled Agent (EA); relevant professional certifications or advanced tax coursework are beneficial.

  • Several years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a similar environment, including supervisory responsibilities.

  • Proficiency with tax and accounting software, strong analytical skills, and high attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills, ability to explain complex tax issues clearly, and commitment to ethical, client-focused service.
