Job Title: Tax Accountant
Location: Hamilton, New Jersey
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 annually + performance based bonuses and potential equity offering.
Work Model: Onsite
Tax Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of business and individual tax clients, serving as their primary advisor.
- Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for corporations, S corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals.
- Develop proactive tax planning strategies that help clients minimize tax liabilities and meet their financial goals.
- Research tax laws and regulations and provide guidance on complex tax matters.
- Review financial statements and client accounting records to ensure accuracy and tax compliance.
- Respond to IRS and state tax notices and represent clients during audits and other tax matters when necessary.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and exceptional service.
- Lead, coach, and mentor tax staff while reviewing work for quality and accuracy.
- Help improve internal processes, workflows, and efficiencies to support the firm's continued growth.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on client service initiatives and business development opportunities.
Tax Manager Qualifications:
- CPA license required or actively pursuing licensure.
- 6+ years of recent public accounting experience with a strong focus on taxation.
- Experience preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and S corporation tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of tax planning, consulting, and compliance for privately held businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
- Experience supervising staff and managing multiple client engagements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting/tax software; experience with UltraTax and QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) is a plus.
