Tax ManagerWe are seeking an experienced and client-focused Tax Manager to join our growing firm. This individual will play a key role in leading tax compliance and advisory engagements, managing client relationships, and mentoring a team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to provide proactive tax planning strategies to a diverse client base.

This position offers significant exposure to firm leadership, opportunities for advancement, and the ability to make a meaningful impact on both client success and internal team development.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance & AdvisoryOversee and manage the preparation and review of complex tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trustsEnsure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulationsProvide strategic tax planning and consulting services to minimize tax exposure and support clients' financial objectivesAdvise clients on entity structure, tax-saving opportunities, and long-term planning strategiesIdentify and mitigate tax risks while ensuring compliance with evolving tax laws and regulationsClient Relationship ManagementManage and grow a portfolio of clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all tax-related mattersBuild and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service deliveryUnderstand clients' businesses, industries, and financial goals to provide tailored tax solutionsRespond to client inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional mannerTechnical Research & Thought LeadershipConduct in-depth research on complex tax issues and develop well-supported conclusionsInterpret and apply changes in tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients and internal teamsDraft technical memoranda and documentation supporting tax positions and recommendationsServe as a technical resource for staff and senior team membersEngagement & Financial ManagementManage the full lifecycle of engagements, including scoping, quoting, budgeting, execution, and completionDevelop and monitor engagement budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scopePrepare, review, and approve invoices; manage billing and collections to ensure strong realizationIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability across engagementsTeam Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, manage, and mentor tax seniors and staff, providing ongoing coaching and professional developmentReview work prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and complianceDelegate work effectively and manage team workflow to meet deadlinesFoster a collaborative, high-performance team environment and assist in resolving team conflictsParticipate in recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts as the firm continues to growQualificationsCPA designation preferred (or actively pursuing)5+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong focus on taxStrong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations across multiple entity typesProven ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated leadership experience with the ability to supervise and develop teamsBachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation or related field preferredProficiency in tax software such as CCH Axcess and/or ProSystem fxAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
