Job TitleDuties and ResponsibilitiesAssumes full responsibility for supervising engagements and special assignments using established firm policies and proceduresCoordinate various phases of engagements - including planning, budgeting, monitoring actual performance against budget, reviewing papers for accuracy and completeness, and reviews financial statementsProvides supervision and on-the-job training to staff by offering guidance, direction, and constructive feedbackDevelops and is accountable for the assignment work plan and ensures assigned tasks and responsibilities are achievedManage and guide staff on their day to day activities including budgetingReview and manage the preparation of the tax returns in a variety of client service areas with an emphasis on high net worth individual income taxation, pass through entitiesBuild and maintain client relationships and manage all aspects of the client engagement processDevelop innovative tax planning strategies and stay abreast of current tax laws and regulatory changesResearch tax law and consult on tax technical questionsPlans and manages responsibilities and resources to achieve assigned objectivesHelps develop solutions for clients and manages implementation of ideasCommunicates engagement progress, problems, resolutions, financial information, tax activity and other business concerns with clientsWorks with co-workers on assignments to anticipate project issues, assess alternatives, and take appropriate measure to resolve assignment issuesIdentifies client needs and opportunities, and identifies cross selling and new service opportunitiesSupports partners in developing new initiatives to increase retention, meet resourcing needs, utilization, and staff developmentDevelop functional specialization and/or industry expertiseEstablishes and actively works to build a network to assist with business development and firm marketing initiativesDevelop a specialty designation or begin to obtain a mastersAdditional responsibilities not listed above may be expected as neededPosition QualificationsMinimum of 6 years of relevant progressive experience in public accounting tax including technical tax review, consulting, and researchBA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related (preferably a masters)MST is preferableCPA CertificationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with tax software, MS Office, and applicable technologyAbility to provide exceptional client service as well as develop trusted client relationshipsStrong leadership and personnel management skills, with supervisory experienceStrong technical knowledge and problem-solving capabilitiesDeep tax knowledge and experience reviewing business and individual income tax returns
