Tax Manager

Tax ManagerWe are looking for a skilled and client-focused Tax Manager to join our team as a key leader.The Tax Manager is responsible for the review of tax returns (partnership/corporate), conduct research, coordinate year-end planning, calculate quarterly estimates, and manage other projects as needed. This includes managing multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously. Tasks are typically conducted with little to no supervision but under the review of a Partner or directly from the client.

Delegation and supervisory responsibilities will occur with less experienced staff. This position may also involve working cross-departmentally with other Boulay Departments (most typically audit and accounting advisory) to effectively accomplish projects and tasks.To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and responsibility satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.Tax Compliance, Client Management, and Technical SupportReview advanced tax computations, workpapers, and tax entriesAssist clients with bookkeeping and adjusting journal entriesReview tax returns (individual, partnership, multistate, corporate, and other)May be authorized to sign tax returns in the course of this roleManage year-end planning and quarterly tax estimatesAddress IRS or State Taxing Authority notices and provide a timely responseReview and assist in researching technical issuesVerify the validity and accuracy of client financial mattersInitiate and manage client communicationsIdentify and communicate issues and tax planning ideas with a PartnerEngagement Management, Operations, and Financial OversightCoordinate, plan, and schedule workflow for effective engagement managementOrganize and coordinate clients' income tax data for accurate and timely completionDelegate and oversee the initial preparation and set-up of client filesDelegate preparation of payroll and quarterly/year-end payroll tax returns
