Tax Manager

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid) - in office during tax season, off season 1 day WFH

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 base + up to 10% annual bonus, 100% employer paid medical premiums, 401K with 4% match, PTO is negiotable (up to 4 weeks!)

About the Opportunity

A strong and growing CPA firm in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its team, with a clear and defined path to Partner. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys a mix of technical work, client service, and team mentorship, and who wants to grow within a firm that invests in its people.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Prepare and review business and individual (high-net-worth) tax returns, with a heavier focus on business returns alongside a mix of individual work
• Conduct tax research on a variety of technical issues
• Supervise, train, and mentor Associates and Senior Associates — day-to-day interaction with the team is a key part of this role
• Receive and work with output/work product generated by the firm's CAS (Client Accounting Services) group (no direct bookkeeping involvement)
• Perform tax filings across business and individual returns
• No audit or assurance work — this is a dedicated tax role within a firm that maintains a separate audit/assurance practice
• CCH Axcess Tax

Must-Haves

• Minimum 5 years of tax experience in public accounting
• Demonstrated experience reviewing both business and high-net-worth individual tax returns
• Tax research experience
• Background from either a large firm or a small-to-mid-size public accounting firm (open to either)

Nice-to-Haves

• CPA license strongly preferred
• Experience supervising or mentoring Associates/Senior Associates
