We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Tax Manager to join our prestigious legal firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all tax‑related matters, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws, and developing strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all tax‑related matters within the firm, including compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws, and the preparation and filing of all tax returns.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize the firm's financial performance.
- Conduct thorough reviews of 1065 forms and other tax documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on tax‑related issues to partners and other stakeholders within the firm.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, and ensure that the firm is in compliance with all new requirements.
- Work closely with auditors and other external parties to address tax‑related inquiries and issues.
- Conduct regular tax training sessions for staff to increase tax knowledge and compliance within the firm.
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring that all tax‑related items are accurately reflected.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to identify and address tax implications of business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager role, preferably within the legal industry.
- Extensive knowledge of 1065 forms and other tax‑related documents.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Tax Coach (CTC) designation is preferred.
- Proficient in tax software and other related software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
