Tax Manager - $140K

We service our clients primarily in the New York Metro area as well nationally through our AAFA network (45 financial staffing affiliates throughout the U.S. and Canada).

Job Description:

A technology (advertising) company is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee their tax compliance and provision functions. These functions are co-sourced with external consultants. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping their tax strategy and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

This is a hybrid position in New York City requiring this person to be in the office up to 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of the Federal (Consolidated) Income tax return, state and local income tax returns, extensions and estimated payments, including the gathering of financial information and workpapers and the identification and calculation of book/tax differences. This includes electronically filing the returns.
• Manage the preparation of tax provisions for company and its entities, including managing the quarterly tax provision timeline.
• Oversee the preparation of sales and use and property tax compliance
• Perform tax research on an as needed basis with respect to federal and state income tax, payroll tax and property tax.
• Actively participate in tax planning projects.
• Manage both Federal & state tax audits, including responding to IDRs and other tax requests/notices.
• Maintain tax calendar.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree - Accounting
• CPA preferred
• Master's in taxation preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years in corporate and/or public accounting firm tax department.
• Experienced with OneSource and other tax software and research tools.
• Ideally be able to work in an office 1-2 times per week.
