Tax Division Leadership PositionChatterton & Associates is searching for a resilient and analytical Leader for our new Tax Division Leadership position. The right person will be able to think about all of the factors that might affect a situation, spot the relevant patterns and issues, then organize, prioritize and execute the plan. Although, this person's success and tenure will ultimately rely on the ability to collaborate with all levels of the company.
This position will be a key role in aligning and unifying the Tax Division with the other organizational divisions. You will have a vital impact on how the Division interacts with clients, team and company by providing a combination of high strategic planning and hands-on work throughout the year.Summary of ResponsibilitiesLeadership – Organizational LevelCollaborating with the other Division LeadersMaintain an awareness of the business and forecast potential problems on the horizon.Leadership – Team LevelLead, coach, and review the Tax Division which includes Enrolled Agents, CPA's, Tax Coordinators, and Bookkeepers.Ensure accurate and timely prepared tax returns from the Tax Preparation TeamCreate, execute, and improve systems that are consistent, repeatable, and best utilizes resources to create an amazing client journey throughout the year.Make sure each team member is in compliance with tax laws and regulations.Direct Hands-OnPreparing client tax returns, tax projections, and tax reduction plans.Utilize this experience to improve internal and external systems.Conduct research on tax laws, communicate with clients, and ensure compliance.Client InteractionsProvide exceptional client service with immediate response times even during busiest times.Ensure client journey stays aligned with company goals.Ideal CandidateActive CPA or EA --an absolute requirement--7 years of experience in tax preparationPersonal returns – requiredBusiness/Trust returns – highly preferred2 years of a supervisory role3-7 direct reports (10+ indirect reports)Experience with tax software – Lacerte preferredExperience with tax projections and planningStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and client service skillsResilientJob Type: Full-timePay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceExperience level:7 yearsSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: In person
