$190,000–$230,000 + Bonus | Hybrid | Clear Route to Partner

An established New York CPA firm is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Director to join its growing tax practice.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who wants significant client responsibility, involvement in developing the wider tax team and a genuine opportunity to progress towards Partner.

The Role

• Manage and develop a portfolio of high-value tax clients
• Review complex federal, state and multi-state tax returns
• Lead tax planning and advisory projects
• Act as a senior point of contact for key clients
• Review work prepared by Managers, Seniors and Associates
• Mentor and develop members of the tax team
• Support Partners with complex technical matters and client strategy
• Assist with business development and the continued growth of the tax practice
• Build long-term relationships with both existing and new clients

What They’re Looking For

• Strong background within public accounting / CPA firms
• Significant tax compliance, review and advisory experience
• Previous experience at Senior Manager or Director level
• Strong client management skills
• Experience managing and developing tax professionals
• Comfortable handling complex tax matters independently
• CPA strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
