Tax Director

We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead tax compliance, preparation, and planning for individual and business clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned public accounting professional with strong technical tax expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and review complex individual and business tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize client outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with current federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop tax staff while managing workloads and deadlines.
• Advise clients on tax matters and respond to tax authority inquiries.
• Collaborate with accounting teams on integrated client engagements.
• Identify opportunities to expand client services and strengthen relationships.
• Drive process improvements and maintain current knowledge of tax regulations and industry practices.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Several years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance, preparation, planning, and federal and state tax laws.
• Solid accounting skills and the ability to interpret financial statements.
• Experience with tax preparation and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.
• A master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting, or additional tax certifications, is a plus.
