Tax Manager (Confidential Food Manufacturing Company)
Location: Selma Area, CA. Salary range: $175,000 – $225,000 annually DOE plus comprehensive benefits.
Our well‑established food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead all tax planning, compliance, reporting, and strategic initiatives across a complex multi‑entity organization. The role will collaborate closely with executive leadership, oversee a small internal tax team, and partner with external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all tax functions for the organization, including income, property, sales/use and other applicable tax matters.
- Oversee the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and individuals.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies that support business objectives and maximize tax efficiency.
- Provide tax guidance related to business transactions, entity restructuring, acquisitions, and real‑estate activities.
- Support estate and succession planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and filing requirements.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and proactively evaluate their impact on the organization.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and auditors.
- Drive process improvements through technology, automation, reporting tools and data analytics.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams on tax‑related matters.
- Assist executive leadership with tax provisions and financial reporting considerations.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop members of the tax team.
Qualifications
- Active CPA license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive tax experience.
- At least 2 years of leadership or management experience within public accounting or private industry.
- Strong expertise in both tax compliance and tax planning.
- Experience working with cash‑basis and accrual‑basis entities.
- Thorough understanding of FAS 109 and related tax accounting principles.
- Experience supporting complex ownership structures and multiple business entities.
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Experience within manufacturing, agriculture, food production or related industries highly desirable.
