Tax Counsel/Manager – Supply, Trading & Shipping

• Provide the Trading & Shipping businesses with tax advice and analysis of U.S. federal income tax law
• Support the trading and execution of physical and paper trades across energy and environmental commodities
• Meet with business personnel to advise and provide counsel on tax matters
• Coordinate with a team of tax professionals in providing tax advice and assurance on investments
• Ensure that Trading & Shipping businesses are aligned with US federal tax laws
• Advise the Supply Trading & Shipping business on matters of transfer pricing
• Provide technical input to stakeholders to shape strategic direction of transfer pricing initiatives

Requirements

• A degree level qualification and with a preference for a Juris Doctorate degree
• At least 5 to 10 years of relevant tax planning and advisory experience
• Strong preference for oil, gas and commodity trading tax experience
• Understanding of US corporate tax law
• Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating corporate governance and transaction documents
• Understanding of financial modelling and business drivers
• Understanding of transfer pricing rules and concepts
• Experience with cross border transactions between affiliates
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent analytical skills in the areas of US federal domestic taxation
• Strong understanding of financial and tax accounting
