Tax Associate
Richmond, VA (In-Office with Flexibility)
ProspectBlue is partnering with a Richmond-based family office accounting firm on the hire of a Tax Associate. The role prepares individual, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns for high-net-worth families and reports directly to the Tax Manager. It's a long-term growth position on a small team, a good fit for an early-career tax professional who wants to build depth and take on more responsibility over time.
What You'll Do
* Prepare individual, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns for Tax Manager review
* Gather and organize client tax documents, workpapers, and supporting schedules
* Support tax planning projects, including estate, gift, and charitable planning
* Handle year-round client needs, including estimated payments, extensions, and tax notices
* Work with clients and their outside advisors (investment, legal, and insurance) as your role grows
* Stay current on tax law changes and developments
What You Bring
* 1-3 years of tax experience in public accounting (required)
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
* CPA, or working toward licensure, preferred
* Experience preparing individual returns; exposure to partnership, trust, or high-net-worth returns is a plus
* Comfortable with tax compliance and research software; QuickBooks experience is a plus
* Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
