A Professional Services Firm is seeking an experienced tax professional to join their team as a Tax Associate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and trusts
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks Online and Desktop
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card activity to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist with payroll tax filings and sales tax compliance
- Communicate directly with clients to gather documentation, address questions, and provide status updates
- Maintain accurate and organized client records and supporting documentation
- Support year-end tax planning and advisory initiatives
- Stay informed on tax law updates and evolving compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree is a plus
- CPA designation highly preferred
- 2+ years of experience in tax preparation and bookkeeping, preferably within public accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with tax preparation software such as Drake, Lacerte, UltraTax, or similar platforms
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a client-service mindset
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
