Tax Associate AttorneyDirect Counsel is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm's Houston office.Position Overview A leading national firm is seeking a mid- to senior-level Tax Associate Attorney with approximately 4–8 years of experience to join its Tax group in Houston. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong transactional tax background to work on sophisticated matters within a high-performing, collaborative team.The ideal candidate will have experience supporting complex transactional matters, a strong foundation in tax law, and a demonstrated commitment to producing high-quality legal work. Strong academic credentials and prior law firm experience are preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on a broad range of transactional tax matters, including structuring and negotiating complex dealsSupport M&A, finance, and other corporate transactions with tax analysis and planningDraft, review, and negotiate tax-related provisions in transaction documentsCollaborate closely with corporate, finance, and regulatory teams on integrated mattersConduct legal research and prepare clear, practical tax guidance for clientsManage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentQualificationsApproximately 4–8 years of experience in transactional tax lawPrior experience at a law firm requiredStrong understanding of federal income tax issues in corporate and transactional contextsExcellent writing, analytical, and client service skillsHigh level of academic achievement preferredAbility to thrive in a team-oriented, high-expectations environmentCompensation The anticipated base salary for this Houston-based Associate Attorney position is $310,000–$435,000 annually, depending on experience and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
