Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the merchandise accounts payable team, ensuring effective procedures and controls for timely, accurate, and efficient vendor billing.
• Develop strong partnerships with key vendors and internal stakeholders such as Distribution Operations, Merchandising, and Operations to identify and resolve complex payment issues.
• Collaborate with the India payables team to facilitate timely reconciliation and alignment of vendor bills.
• Leverage data and insights to recommend improvements—drive new initiatives, ensure solutions meet operational excellence goals.
• Power vision through creative problem solving and analytical work on high‑volume complex data to identify process improvements, accuracy, timely payments, automation, and performance metrics.
• Adopt additional activity responsibilities as business needs change.

Qualifications

• College degree in Accounting, Finance, or related payable role.
• 1‑2+ years of supervisory accounting, finance, or business operations experience.
• Proven inclusive team leadership skills, ability to develop and inspire diverse team members.
• Strong verbal communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
• High level of initiative and willingness to learn and implement process improvements.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
• Effective collaboration across functional areas.
• Experience in project execution or technology aptitude is a plus.

Work Arrangement

This position may be considered for a remote or hybrid arrangement, primarily based on the role’s needs. A hybrid arrangement would involve a mix of digital and on‑site work at a Target region. Remote work involves working full‑time from home or an alternate location outside the primary work region, no desk at the primary HQ location, and may require travel to HQ up to four times per year. Certain responsibilities may require the individual to work within the country of the primary work location unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
