Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionDuties and Tasks:Define and drive systems engineering technology, tool, and process strategies across the technical domainOwn the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, system architecture, integration, and verification & validation (V&V)Lead and coordinate all systems engineering efforts, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery that meets customer requirements and quality standardsProactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks while maintaining cost, schedule, and performance objectivesMonitor program health through budget reviews, schedule management, and regular status reporting to stakeholdersServe as the primary liaison between systems engineering, project management, and line management, ensuring alignment across all levelsBuild, mentor, and develop high-performing systems engineering teams, managing all personnel matters including merit planning, performance reviews, and corrective actionsLead systems engineering process improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and best practicesActively participate in the proposal process, including development of Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs) and executable project plansAssess and implement training programs to meet the workforce development needs of the systems engineering domainMay carry budget responsibilities in support of program and organizational goalsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing systems engineering teamsDeep expertise in systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes including requirements decomposition, system architecture, integration, and V&VFamiliarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies (e.g., Cameo, SysML)Solid understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), SPI/CPI, and Cost Account Management (CAM)Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage customers, program teams, and senior leadershipProven ability to drive continuous process improvement leveraging frameworks such as INCOSE and CMMIFamiliarity with applicable defense standards such as MIL-STD-499, IEEE 15288, and DoD acquisition processes preferredRecognized internally and externally as a subject matter expert in systems engineeringAdditional Requirements:Travel may be requiredSecurity clearance may be requiredDecisions and recommendations may have long-term program and mission impactsIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovationSalary NoteThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
