The work demands creative problem-solving at the intersection of robotics and consumer electronics testing.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy robotic and mechatronic system testing solutions as the owner of one or more technology areas.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the most effective and impactful ways to test and solve short and long-term problems.Analyze data and results, and report the impact of all system issues found, advocating for the customer and contributing to the highest quality at all levels of the product.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field3+ years of experience in creating and using robotics and/or mechatronic systems (e.g.
microcontrollers, sensors, actuators) to build automated solutionsExpertise in PythonExperience with applied mathematics (e.g. linear algebra, transformation matrices, kinematics)Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex mechatronic and software systemsExperience in CADing/designing mechanical fixtures for robotic applicationsExperience with computer vision (OpenCV) and/or AI/ML applicationsDemonstrated ability to work in teams and collaboratePreferred QualificationsMaster's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldExperience designing and working with electronic circuits, and troubleshooting electronic signals for mechatronic solutionsStrong understanding of QA methodologies and practicesMeticulous attention to detail and skilled at balancing multiple projects in parallel without impacting the quality of deliverablesExperience using and/or creating AI tools for development or robotic applicationsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
