Systems Integration Test Track EngineerDuration: 1+ years Location: Mossville IL test track, onsite fully. Must have a valid license and be OK working on a tractor and testing as it drivesScope of Work:Perform system integration testing on L8 Command for Hauling system. Majority of work to be completed at Test Track site - operating light vehicles, small machines, and autonomous equipped Tahoes.Caterpillar has a system in production delivering an autonomous haulage system to our key customers around the world.
This system has been initially released to support the 793F large mining truck and is now being expanded to other truck models. This role will perform lab and on vehicle based system integration testing of software releases for the Command for Hauling program. The systems include an office based software (MineStar), the truck onboard system (setup on Chevy Tahoe test platforms), and Auxiliary display systems mounted on small machines and light vehicles.
This testing is the primary integration step completed prior to testing the systems on machines at our proving grounds.The testing activity includes:Documenting new test casesExecuting test cases using manual steps and executing some levels of automated testsDocumenting issues discovered during testingDocumenting the status of testing for each release package- 5+ year experience in testing complex hardware and/or software systems. Includes ability to analyze complex system requirements / use cases and develop test cases based on common failure modes, use cases, system experience, etc. Ability to execute new test cases defined in addition to established tests in a collaborative team environment across multiple systems.-Experience with Linux, Windows OS, CAN, ethernet communications, GNSS/GPS, etc.
