You'll be a key member of a team responsible for bringing complex antenna systems to life—both at our facilities and at customer sites.The Day-to-DayLead or assist in the on-site installation and mechanical assembly of large-scale antenna systems, ensuring proper alignment, structure integrity, and system functionalityIntegrate and connect system components, including cabling, RF, and network interfaces, according to design documentationReference an Indentured Drawing List (IDL) and corresponding Bill of Materials (BOM) to support installation planning and logisticsSet up and operate specialized test equipment for antenna system validationParticipate in customer site visits, where you will be the on-site representative of Viasat—ensuring installation quality and maintaining strong customer relationshipsSupport network setup and configuration tasks necessary to bring installed systems onlinePrepare and present technical reports summarizing installation results and any corrective actions takenAssist in the refinement of installation procedures and documentation to improve future deploymentsProvide remote support when not physically on-site supporting installationsWhat You'll Need2+ years of experience in system installation, integration, and commissioning of RF systems, antenna systems, or satellite communication terminalsExperience with cabling, mechanical assembly, and system setup in remote or field environmentsProficiency in reviewing and reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation documentation using AutoCAD or similar CAD toolsStrong understanding of RF, network, and control system integration, including configuring vendor equipment for remote operationsAbility to troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues on-site with minimal supervisionExperience with testing and tuning RF systems, including G/T, EIRP, BERT, and servo controlsExcellent communication skills to coordinate installation activities with customers, field technicians, and internal teamsWillingness to travel 60% or more to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and supportU.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S.
Secret ClearanceAbility to work on-site at our Duluth, GA facility and customer locationsWhat Will Help You On The JobExperience with SATCOM or remote sensing RF electronics, including HPAs, converters, LNAs, across S, X, Ka, and Ku bandsFamiliarity with system testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of RF and control subsystemsKnowledge of remote control interfaces and network configurations for satellite and antenna systemsSalary Range$95,000.00 - $149,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area, and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $117,500.00- $176,500.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
