Systems Engineer/V&V EngineerThis position supports the Safety Systems Integration team, focusing on the Collision Mitigation and driver safety systems teams. The primary role of a systems engineer is to apply computer science principles and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and systems. Engineers will analyze user needs, design, test, and develop software to fulfill these requirements.ResponsibilitiesModify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to implement changes.Write and code logical and physical database descriptions, specifying identifiers for database management systems or directing others in coding descriptions.Collaborate as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate the time and cost required to complete the project.Essential SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skills.Problem-solving skills.Customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including business/systems analysis, requirements gathering, functional specification authoring, development, testing, and delivery.Experience with systems engineering, verification and validation, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and systems integration.5+ years of relevant experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of software to better comprehend integration needs.Background in software is beneficial but not required.Experience with safety systems and large machinery is advantageous.Work EnvironmentThis role requires onsite work at the tech center.
