Systems Engineer Technical ExpertThe primary role of the Systems Engineer Technical Expert is to provide technical leadership and hands-on support for a Zero Trust implementation supporting mission-critical environments. This role focuses on systems engineering, architecture development, and technical integration across Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) capabilities. You'll work closely with engineering teams, developers, and security stakeholders to design, document, and implement secure, compliant Zero Trust solutions.Position Responsibilities:Provide systems engineering and technical support for Zero Trust implementation effortsCollaborate with ICAM capability teams to define requirements, develop system architecture, and produce design documentationPerform technology assessments and support risk mitigation activitiesProvide hands-on support for configuration management, installation troubleshooting, and cloud-based technologiesApply industry, federal, and DoD standards and policies to system designs and implementationsCreate and maintain ICAM Zero Trust documentation including release notes, installation guides, user guides, frameworks, SOPs, and implementation plansWork with technologies such as REST, Oracle/MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, JSON, XML, Docker, AWS, NiFi, and Single Sign-On solutions (OAuth and SAML)Research and analyze cloud security environments and architecturesSupport Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities and DoD accreditation documentationIdentify capability gaps and recommend enhancements for ICAM servicesDefine implementation processes and outline hardware and software considerationsAssist software development teams with requirements tracking, sprint planning, design input, and testing supportBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience15+ years of relevant experienceDemonstrated experience supporting Zero Trust implementations in a systems engineering capacityExperience working with ICAM capability teams to define requirements and develop architectureHands-on experience with configuration management, installation troubleshooting, and cloud technologiesKnowledge of industry, federal, and DoD security standards and policiesExperience producing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for ICAM and Zero Trust initiativesProficiency with REST, Oracle/MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, JSON, XML, Docker, AWS, NiFi, and Single Sign-On technologies (OAuth and SAML)Experience researching and analyzing cloud security environmentsFamiliarity with the Risk Management Framework and DoD accreditation processesStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify capability gaps and system enhancementsExperience supporting software development teams with requirements tracking, sprint planning, design input, and testingAn active TS/SCI with PolygraphOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies:Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or mission environmentsAbility to translate security mandates into practical system implementationsStrong collaboration skills across engineering, development, and security teamsSalary Range: $190,000 – $250,000Compensation & Benefits NoticeThe pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
