Job TitlePeraton is seeking incumbent and external qualified candidates to support North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) – Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract III (NISSC III).Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected mid to late 2026.Qualified candidates will help operate, maintain, and sustain critical national mission systems to deliver resilient strategic threat warning and space capabilities as part of a world-wide architecture, providing strategic warning that our nation depends on during a conflict. This program will provide an opportunity to exploit the capabilities inherent in our diverse national systems to better meet the needs of the national command authority and warfighters to detect, track, and respond to strategic threats through 2030 and beyondThe Systems Engineer will support systems engineering, integration, sustainment engineering, and digital engineering activities supporting mission-critical NORAD and USSPACECOM operations within the Cheyenne Mountain Complex environment. This role will support requirements analysis, system integration, technical baseline management, modernization, testing, sustainment, and operational engineering efforts across complex space, missile warning, and command-and-control systems. The ideal candidate will possess experience supporting complex DoD programs in operational or classified environments while collaborating across software, cybersecurity, integration, and operations teams to improve system reliability, mission readiness, and overall operational effectiveness throughout the program lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesSupport systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle including requirements analysis, integration, testing, deployment, sustainment, and modernization effortsDevelop and maintain engineering documentation, interface definitions, technical baselines, system diagrams, and architecture artifactsSupport integration of hardware, software, network, and mission systems across operational environmentsParticipate in technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, system performance analysis, and engineering problem resolutionSupport sustainment engineering and engineering change activities for operational mission systemsCoordinate with software developers, cybersecurity personnel, operations teams, and external stakeholders to support mission readiness and system reliabilitySupport digital engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives where applicableParticipate in Agile engineering activities including sprint planning, technical reviews, backlog refinement, and integration planningSupport verification and validation activities, test planning, and operational assessmentsAssist with risk identification, configuration management, and technical planning effortsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on system reliability, scalability, maintainability, and operational effectivenessQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

Additional four (4) years of experience may be considered in lieu of degreeActive Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required, ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI access requiredExperience supporting systems engineering activities within DoD, Intelligence Community, space, missile defense, or command-and-control environmentsExperience supporting system integration, sustainment engineering, or technical mission systemsFamiliarity with systems engineering processes, technical documentation, and lifecycle support activitiesExperience troubleshooting and analyzing complex technical systems in operational environmentsExperience working within Linux and/or Windows environmentsAbility to collaborate across engineering, software, cybersecurity, integration, and operations teamsDesired QualificationsPrior experience supporting NISSC I/II, ITW/AA, NORAD, USNORTHCOM, USSPACECOM, or Cheyenne Mountain Complex programsExperience supporting enterprise risk management within strategic warning, space, missile defense, C2, ISR, or cyber mission environmentsFamiliarity with RMF, NIST, cybersecurity compliance frameworks, and mission assurance activitiesExperience supporting audit readiness, compliance assessments, and operational process improvement initiativesFamiliarity with QA/QC methodologies within service-based or operational sustainment environmentsExperience operating within 24×7 mission operations or sustainment programsCISSP, CISM, CCSP, Security+, or related certification preferredExperience supporting transition activities, program stand-up, or large-scale DoD contract execution effortsPeraton OverviewPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
