Systems Engineer (Storage and Backup)Location: Rocklin CADuration: 6+ Month Contract4 Days Onsite (Mon-Thur)Roles and Responsibilities:Design, implement, manage, and maintain storage solutionsLeads and participates in installation and configuration activities of storage and backup systems.Provision and decommission storage in accordance with documented proceduresManaging and troubleshooting NFS exports and CIFS SharesSupports resolution of production support incidentsTroubleshoots issues across development, test and production systemsRoutinely monitors all systems within the storage and backup domainPerforms systems resource optimization activitiesParticipates in systems management, and security compliance activitiesOversees monitoring, system access and configuration managementUnderstanding of application/database design & integration with storage systemsIdentifies automation opportunities by communicating and collaborating with the teamResearches and recommends automation and monitoring toolsDevelops and maintains procedures and storage system documentationCreate Knowledge Base articles of operational tasks to streamline support and empower first and second level support to resolve issuesDocument the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and proceduresAutomate repeatable task using scripting & AnsibleResearch new technologies and processesParticipates in On-Call rotation supportActively working in production environment:Production support experience in Storage & Backup AdministrationSolid understanding of large-scale Storage Area Network & Systems (NetApp, EMC, HPE, IBM, Cisco, Rubrik & Brocade)NetApp GridKnowledge of technologies such as operating systems (AIX, Linux, Windows, VMware)Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or relevant subjectAvoid overly lengthy resumes · SAN / Storage Administration certification
